A LITTLE HELP

Before you go.

What’s the difference between setup and portable?

Setup installs CMDX, adds the selected shortcuts, and includes an uninstaller. Portable is the complete application in a ZIP: extract every file and run CMDX.exe. Both include MidiX, and both save preferences in your Windows user profile.

How do I update CMDX?

Close CMDX and MidiX, then run the newer setup for an installed copy. For a portable copy, replace the entire extracted folder. Keep your own music files outside that folder. New CMDX releases and downloads are posted on this website.

Why can’t I hear my MIDI?

Silent is the default audio mode. Open MidiX Audio Settings and select System MIDI with an available output device, or a configured KDMAPI backend. Audio File mode plays a separate recording with optional libmpv. Read the audio guide →

Can I run MidiX without the visualizer?

Yes. Launch CMDX.exe --midix --gpu software. The studio and audio playback remain available, while the OpenGL preview and video export are disabled. Graphics troubleshooting →

Where can I find new CMDX releases?

New CMDX releases are posted on this website. Visit the download page to get the latest available version: 1.0.0.

Is CMDX open source?

No. CMDX is proprietary software and is not open source.
